Update and troubleshoot Chess Suite
Install eligible updates and isolate problems without losing track of your website state.
Before an update
- Check the release information for both the Chess Suite plugin and its companion theme. Take a backup and test a significant update on a staging copy if your website is already in use.
- Open Subscription and use Check licence & updates to refresh eligibility. Review Software & Updates for installed and available versions.
Install and verify
- Open WordPress Updates and choose the eligible updates you intend to install. Do not close the browser while WordPress is reporting that installation is still in progress.
- After updating, check the public homepage, joining form, event registration, course access and staff dashboard. Clear relevant caches if the public page still displays old assets.
- If an update causes a problem, record the versions involved. Use your tested backup process if you need to roll back; replacing plugin files alone may not reverse database changes.
Collect useful support details
- Write the exact steps that reproduce the issue, what you expected, and what happened. Include the product and theme versions, page URL, browser and displayed error.
- If available, use SloopStack Manager’s support summary and review it before sharing. Remove full license keys, credentials and private customer records from attachments.
- For an empty page, check its publication status, template and Website Settings assignment. For a missing feature, check your role and plan. For a failed payment, inspect its actual record and provider result.
