There is a lot of work behind a well-run business or community. Someone has to keep the records straight, answer the questions, organize the next event, and make sure nothing gets missed.
SloopStack is an independent software company based in The Bahamas. We build tools for that work: practical products that help people stay organized, look after their customers and members, and spend less time piecing information together.
We are starting with Chess Suite. Our ambitions reach beyond chess and beyond WordPress, but the approach stays the same: understand the job, build something useful, and keep improving it with the people who use it.
A real website.
A much bigger job.
SloopStack grew out of hands-on work on the Bahamas Chess Federation website. The task was not simply to give the site a new look. Members needed information, players needed events and results, and the people running the organization needed a better place to manage the details.
That work brought memberships, player records, tournaments, news, and administration together. It became the starting point for Chess Suite—a product for clubs, academies, schools, leagues, federations, and tournament organizers.
The lesson was straightforward: a public website is often only one part of the job. The tools behind it matter just as much.

Not one platform for everything.
Our first products run on WordPress. Chess Suite combines a website with chess-management tools, and SloopStack Manager brings installed SloopStack products, updates, and help into one WordPress dashboard.
WordPress is part of our work, not the limit of it. As SloopStack grows, we plan to build standalone applications, web-based services, and other software where they make sense. We choose the technology around the problem—not the other way around.

Start with the work.
We look at the tasks people repeat and the points where things get difficult. A useful feature should solve a recognizable problem, not just add another button.
Leave room for your way.
No two organizations are quite alike. Names, content, design choices, and settings should help you make the product fit your team.
Make it understandable.
Clear labels, sensible navigation, and useful guides matter. You should not need to understand how software was built to find what you need.
Listen and improve.
Feedback from everyday use helps us decide what to fix and what to build next. A confusing screen or a missing detail is worth taking seriously.
